Elissa Miolene is a journalist with Devex, a news organization focused on global development. She is currently based in Washington, D.C.

Her work has
also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle, The San Jose Mercury News, Washingtonian Magazine, AP News, and other outlets across the world. While covering education at The San Jose Mercury News, Elissa won the Society of Professional Journalists' print journalism award for education reporting in Northern California after just six months on the beat.

Throughout her career, Elissa has been dedicated to storytelling, with a particular focus on feature writing. Elissa led such efforts at humanitarian agencies like UNICEF, CARE International, and Save the Children, working in East Africa, South Asia, and the United States.
 

In 2022, Elissa earned a master's degree in journalism from Stanford University, where she received the James Robinson Award for outstanding reporting and the Lorry I. Lokey Business Wire Fellowship. Elissa also holds a master's degree in policy and a bachelor's degree in journalism and global studies, both from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
